Romsey Mill Trust
The Brief
Romsey Mill is a Christian charity working with some of the most disadvantaged children, young people and families in Cambridgeshire.
Thanks to a major two-year grant from the previous government's 'Youth Sector Development Fund' (YSDF), the charity had been able to significantly scale up its operations. However, with the end of the grant – and an impending funding gap swiftly approaching - Romsey Mill turned to Peel to help them develop a new and more sustainable approach to income generation and marketing.
Our Approach
We spent time familiarising ourselves with Romsey Mill’s work, getting to know their staff, understanding the bigger picture and reviewing the charity’s existing approach to fundraising.
Using a number of strategic planning tools, conducting interviews with a range of staff, clients and stakeholders and working closely with trustees and senior management, we were able to present the charity with a comprehensive three-year income generation and marketing strategy.
Our bespoke document set out a set of clear strategic objectives, activities and tactics that are now guiding Romsey Mill’s fundraising over the short, medium and longer-term.
Mentoring
To support the roll-out of the strategy, we also provided on-going, tailored mentoring to the charity's Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser over a period of several months.
