Introducing our Associate Consultants:

 

David Hanley

David has been working as a fundraising consultant since 1999, helping clients with capital and revenue fundraising and strategic planning.

 

He worked at Lloyds’ Register of Shipping in the City of London before spending eight years in the Appeals Division of the NSPCC, ending up as Head of Legacies, Major Donors and Trusts. He then joined the National Lottery Charities Board (now The Big Lottery Fund) in 1995 as Senior Grants Officer and was part of the team that designed their assessment process.

 

He is an experienced fundraiser, specialising in trusts and lottery applications, major donors and legacy marketing, and is often engaged by charities to front appeals. As well as being a hands-on fundraiser, he is also a strategist and a seasoned networker. He is an experienced trainer, a regular lecturer on trust fundraising on the NCVO ‘Working for a Charity’ Course, at CHASE, and at The Institute of Fundraising. He is also an adviser to the grant-maker, Porticus UK.

 

David’s clients include: Orthopaedic Research UK, St Catherine’s Hospice Crawley, Kidney Research UK, Age UK Haringey, House of St Barnabas-in-Soho, YMCA East Herts, Strood Community Project, Allergy UK, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, St Elizabeth’s Centre for Epilepsy, St Clare Hospice Harlow, The Seckford Foundation and the St Vincent de Paul Society.

 

 

Katy Dore

Katy has 20 years’ fundraising and non-profit experience gained within a variety of UK and international organisations, including The Big Issue and Sightsavers. Her roles have encompassed corporate fundraising; advertising and sponsorship; creating special events and securing income from high net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations.

 

In particular, Katy has extensive experience of:

 

  • Fundraising strategy, budgeting and team management, including leading teams to achieve and exceed substantial targets;

  • Setting up and growing commercial partnerships with UK and multinational companies, their employees, customers and charitable foundations;

  • Managing relationships with key and high net-worth supporters, trustees, ambassadors and celebrities, and developing successful major giving programmes;

  • Communications management, including overseeing media relationships, charity websites and social media; and

  • Advertising and sponsorship, including creating and selling £1m+ packages.

 

 

Natalie Brook

Natalie has 15 years' experience in charities and fundraising. She has worked in campaigning, fundraising and leadership roles for a range of international and UK organisations including Oxfam GB and the National Union of Students, as well as local charities such as Brighton and Hove Impetus, Oxford Rape Crisis Centre and Rape Crisis Sussex & Surrey.

 

An experienced fundraiser, Natalie has led the fundraising functions of several charities and has particular experience and expertise in developing fundraising strategies and trusts and foundations fundraising. Her consultancy work also includes monitoring and evaluation projects.

 

In addition to her day job, Natalie has experience of being a trustee and volunteer for several charities and is a fellow of the Clore Social Leadership Programme.
