Andrew Peel

Andrew started his fundraising career at the age of five, collecting Christian Aid envelopes door-to-door, and developing a very thick skin in the process. He went on to hold senior fundraising positions at Help the Aged, the British Red Cross and Sightsavers and, as a consultant, has worked with a wide range of charities including Guide Dogs, Diabetes UK, Maggie's, the RNLI, the British Heart Foundation, Home-Start UK, Kamelia Kids and The Saltdean Lido Trust, as well as numerous hospices and NHS hospital trusts.

Andrew has a track record of brokering and managing major corporate relationships, including Help the Aged's 1998 Tesco 'Charity of the Year' partnership, and the global eye care programme, ‘Seeing is Believing’, a partnership between Sightsavers and Standard Chartered Bank. Originally established in 2003 to restore the sight of one million people, this initiative has now raised $100 million and impacted over 212 million people in 38 countries.

Andrew specialises in corporate and trusts fundraising, fundraising reviews, interim management, capital appeals, and in writing impactful proposals, pitches, appeals and strategies. A regular speaker on fundraising, Andrew has also written chapters for the last three editions of the Directory of Social Change’s Corporate Fundraising and Partnerships guide and both editions of the DSC's Community Fundraising guide.

A Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Andrew received the Institute's Professional Fundraiser of the Year Award in 1997.

In his spare time, and when he's not supporting Brighton & Hove Albion, Andrew is a trustee of of a grantmaking charitable trust, a director of a not-for-profit care home for retired clergy and, for the last twelve years, he's been churchwarden and trustee of St Michael & All Angels, a Grade I-listed Anglican church in central Brighton.
